Privacy Policy
The short version. Vili stores the details you and your circle choose to share — names, birthdays, phone numbers, gift notes — so you can remember them. We don't show ads, we don't sell data, and information someone submits through your invite link is visible only to you. You can delete everything at any time.
1. Who we are
Vili is operated by Grupo Olfi ("Vili", "we", "us"), Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. Contact: privacy@vili-birthday.com.
2. What we collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name, email address, profile photo (Google only) and a unique account identifier. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we honor that.
Profile. Your name, phone number (with country code) and birthday, as entered during onboarding. Your phone number is your identity in Vili so people in your circles can recognize you, similar to messaging apps.
Circles. The circles you create (name, emoji, template), who belongs to them and which of your profile fields each circle may see.
Entries. Details submitted through an invite link by people you invite: name, birthday, optional phone number and how they know you.
Gift and relationship notes. Sizes, preferences, wishlists and gift history you record about people in your circles.
Technical data. Device type, OS version, app version, crash reports and basic usage events. We do not collect precise location.
3. How we use it
- To run the service: show upcoming birthdays, sync between your devices, send reminders you turn on.
- To let people join your circles via invite links.
- To fix bugs and understand which features are used.
- To communicate with you about your account or material changes to the service.
We do not use your data for advertising, sell it or share it with data brokers.
4. If you filled in someone's invite link
When you submit details through a Vili link (for example, one shared in a WhatsApp group), they are stored in the account of the person who created the link and only that person can see them. Vili does not create an account for you, contact you or share your details with other members of the group. To have your entry removed, ask the person who shared the link, or email us with the link code.
5. Who can see what
- Your profile is visible only to you, except the fields you explicitly share with each circle.
- Entries submitted through your links are visible only to you.
- Gift notes are visible only to you.
- Invite links expose the circle's name, emoji and your first name to anyone with the link. Codes are unguessable; treat links like a private group link.
6. Where it's stored
Data is stored on Google Cloud (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore) in Google-operated data centers, under Google's Firebase privacy terms. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. Delete your account from the app or by emailing us; this removes your profile, circles you own, entries submitted to you and your gift notes within 30 days. Backups are purged within 90 days. Entries you submitted to other people's circles are controlled by those people (section 4).
8. Children
Vili is for adults (18+). Parents may record birthdays of their own children and their children's friends; that information is held by the parent, in the parent's account. We do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under Mexico's LFPDPPP, the EU/UK GDPR and California's CCPA) you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email privacy@vili-birthday.com; we respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority (in Mexico, the INAI).
10. Third-party services
- Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In — authentication.
- Google Firebase — database, crash reporting.
- Google Fonts — typography on this website.
We do not embed advertising or social-media tracking SDKs.
11. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll notify you in the app and update the date above.
